Custom Formula Columns on Budget

Add calculated columns to your budgets for deeper insights, such as commission amounts, cost per square foot, or % cost to complete. Formula columns can reference cost item details, job parameters, and even job custom fields. These calculations are designed for reporting only and will not be used in other calculations, giving you flexible and powerful visibility into your job costs.
Get started:
  • Click the Gear Icon above your budget.
  • Scroll to the bottom.
  • Select + Formula Column.

    Retainage and Hold Backs

    Track retainage for both customer invoices and vendor bills! Retainage allows you to hold back a percentage of the payment until a milestone is met or the job is complete, giving you more financial control over your projects.
  • Navigate to Settings and toggle on Retainage in the General tab.
  • Set your default percentage, cost code, and cost type.
  • Adjust retainage per job or override settings on individual invoices or bills.
  • Use the Retainage Cost and Retainage Price columns in the budget to quickly see which items have retainage applied.
  • Retainage amounts are tracked in the budget using a dedicated cost item, and are reported on in your Income Report and Cost by Vendor report.

    Create Jobs as QBO Projects

    Jobs in JobTread can be automatically created as Projects in QuickBooks Online. This allows you to take advantage of QBO's Projects center, consolidating all transactions for a job in one place and unlocking expanded project reporting.
  • Navigate to your QBO Integration Settings in JobTread.
  • Toggle on the option to Create Projects in QuickBooks.
  • Your future jobs in JobTread will automatically sync as Projects in QBO.
  • With this integration, you can keep your project accounting centralized in QBO while continuing to manage everything else in JobTread.

    Vendor Compliance Warnings

    Quickly identify vendors with outdated or soon-to-expire paperwork. Any vendor date custom field that includes “exp” in the field name will automatically trigger compliance checks.
  • When selecting a vendor for a document, a yellow icon appears when paperwork is within 30 days of expiration and a red icon appears when paperwork is expired.
  • A notice displays on the document if the selected vendor is out of compliance.
  • Expand the new Vendor Details menu on a document to view all vendor custom fields while editing, ensuring you have full visibility of their account information.
  • Stay ahead of compliance issues and keep your vendor documentation up to date.

    Default Folders and Tags for QBO & CompanyCam Files

    Automatically organize files imported from QuickBooks Online and CompanyCam by assigning default folders and tags.
    How it Works:
  • In your integration settings, select the job file folder where new files will be saved.
  • Choose a file tag to automatically apply to all imported files.
  • For clarity, consider using the source name (e.g., “QBO” or “CompanyCam”) as the folder or tag, or categorize by purpose (e.g., “Financials” or “Field”).
  • After saving your settings, all future files pulled from QBO or CompanyCam will follow your defaults.

    Home Depot Pro Xtra Integration

    Connect your Home Depot Pro Xtra account to unlock real-time, member-specific pricing in JobTread.
  • Navigate to the Integrations tab within your Settings.
  • Locate the Home Depot tile and enter your Home Depot Pro Xtra account credentials.
  • Once connected, your Pro Xtra pricing will automatically apply to all Home Depot items in the Global Catalog.
  • Pull items into your catalog or job budgets to reflect your exact Pro Xtra savings. All users in your organization will benefit from the integrated pricing, no extra steps needed!

    Default File Folder for CompanyCam

    Stay organized and reduce clutter by setting a default folder for your CompanyCam files. All incoming files will automatically be routed to the connected job and folder of your choice. If the folder doesn't already exist, we'll create it for you on the fly. To set this up, follow these simple instructions:
  • Navigate to your JobTread Settings.
  • Click on the Integrations tab and choose CompanyCam.
  • If you're connected, you'll see the option to set a default folder at the top of the page.

    Customize Signature Disclaimer

    Customize the text above signature boxes on your documents, allowing you to tailor the signing language exactly how you want for each document or document type.
  • Within a document, click to edit the disclaimer text above the signature box.
  • Within a document template, customize the signature disclaimer with the Signature Disclaimer field.
  • This makes the use of Documents more flexible, especially in situations where you don't have costs on the document.

    Billable Rates for Cost Plus Invoicing

    Gain more flexibility in how you charge for labor by using billable rates instead of burdened hourly rates when invoicing time. This update lets you pull rates directly from your budget. Perfect for jobs with multiple labor rates!
  • In your budget, add line items with the billable rate in the unit cost cell. The unit price will reflect the added markup for the customer price.
  • Approve the budget.
  • When invoicing, toggle Set time entries to unit cost & price under the Bills & Time section.
  • The system will apply your budget's unit cost and unit price instead of the employee's burdened rate.
  • Supports multiple line items, each with its own rate, markup, and recorded hours.
  • This feature makes it easier to invoice accurately for jobs with different rates, keeping your billing consistent with your budget.

    Gantt View Zoom Tool

    Change the time interval showing in your job and organizational Gantt schedule. These changes will also reflect in PDFs!
  • In your job or organization schedule, choose Gantt from the display type.
  • Within the Gantt view, on the top-right of the schedule, there are now two magnifying glass icons.
  • Use these to zoom out to see a longer time interval on the schedule, or to zoom in to see a shorter time interval on the schedule.
  • Now when you export as a PDF, the zoomed in or zoomed out Gantt view you created will be shown in the PDF.
  • Enhance your schedule viewing quickly and easily.
