Builders risk is the best way to cover a home or building that is under construction, new or remodel, and best purchased by you, the GC/builder.
- Typically required for a project if there is a lender involved. Most homeowners or property policies do not cover larger remodel projects.
- This covers the “sticks and bricks, the physical structure and things to be installed” in the case of fire, storm damage, theft, etc.
General Liability Insurance
General liability provides coverage for bodily injury or resulting property damage for which you are legally liable.
- Starting to be required by many cities before issuing a permit for a project.
- Protects your most important asset: your ability to be in business and make money.
- Protects you in the case of lawsuit from a 3rd party, provides defense.
