UI/UX Designer

JobTread builds construction management software that helps contractors manage their businesses from one platform. From estimating and proposals to scheduling, job costing, and customer communication, our tools help construction teams work more efficiently and make better decisions.

We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer to make JobTread easier to learn and use. You’ll work across our app, turning customer needs and product opportunities into clear, thoughtful designs. The right person enjoys solving practical problems, works well with others, and cares about how software performs in the real world, whether someone is in the office or out on a jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product team and developers to solve complex problems in construction technology and shape research-informed product solutions.
• Learn how contractors use JobTread through interviews, usability tests, surveys, customer calls, and product analytics.
• Identify friction in key workflows, from setting up a business to managing projects and tracking costs.
• Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and other design artifacts to explore and validate solutions.
• Collaborate with teammates and customers, gather feedback, and refine designs through iterative processes.
• Advocate for customers and help the organization understand how design decisions affect their experience.
• Design intuitive, consistent web and mobile experiences for both office teams and field crews.
• Work with developers to understand implementation constraints, prepare specifications, and review the finished experience.
• Contribute to and evolve JobTread’s design system, including reusable components, patterns, and documentation.
• Consider accessibility, responsive layouts, edge cases, and blank states throughout the design process.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience in UI/UX or product design, with a portfolio showing how you turn user needs into effective product experiences.
• Proficiency in Figma and experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and polished designs.
• Experience designing complex web applications, mobile apps, or other software products.
• Familiarity with user research, usability testing, and product analytics tools.
• Strong understanding of interaction design, visual hierarchy, responsive design, and accessibility.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing B2B SaaS or workflow-heavy products is a plus.
• Familiarity with construction, field-service, or project-management software is a plus.
• Experience building or evolving a design system is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of front-end development concepts is a plus.
